The Fifth Kingdom

More Info >

Fungi are mostly unseen, hidden in the soil  where they work their magic of recycling and providing nutrients to all plants. When they reproduce, however, some produce the unique, sometimes strange fruiting bodies, that we call mushrooms. This exhibit illustrates a selection of the good (edible), the bad (toxic) and the beautiful.

Join us in the BRIT Welcome Center Gallery for this fascinating glimpse at the often overlooked Fifth Kingdom.

Botanical Art - Six Ways

Join us in the Madeline R. Samples Exhibit Hall at BRIT as we take a deeper dive into the work of six present day botanical artists. From the classical botanical art of Melanie Campbell-Carter and Samantha Peters; to the contemporary style of Jennifer Gillen and Denis Benjamin; and from the vibrant, dramatic floral paintings of the nationally celebrated and award winning Soon Warren, to the unique art of Roberta Smith using pressed and dried flowers, each artist explores the beauty of the plant kingdom in their unique style, creating an awareness of the importance that plants plays in our lives

Meet the artists at the opening reception on Friday, July 12th, 5.30 pm - 7.30 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Can't make it on the 12th? Then join us for Fall Gallery Night on September 7th.
