The Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) seeks a highly motivated full time Volunteer Associate Director to support, develop and grow a combined volunteer program for both the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and BRIT. This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Volunteers.

The Volunteer Associate Director will help conduct needs assessment and develop plans for the growth of the volunteer resource base to meet goals. They will also implement sourcing and recruiting strategies utilizing community partnerships and affiliations. In addition, the Associate Director will seek corporate volunteers for projects and will work collaboratively to move corporations from volunteering into sponsorship and donations.  Other tasks will include maintaining updated records on all areas of volunteers while managing the interview, selection and placement process of volunteers with staff.  They will also manage and monitor volunteer check-in/check-out process, along with the recruitment and placement of area interns and JR volunteers.  They will work closely with Education to build volunteer and docent support base and keep them engaged throughout the year.

 A Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience with volunteers or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Experience and competency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 365, SharePoint, and donor contact database.  The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a strong internal and external customer service focus. Personal attributes including good judgement, ethical conduct, attention to detail, and timely follow-through on assignments and responsibilities are essential. Applicants must be familiar with team concepts and able to collaborate with others on special projects.
