Since 2010, Chris Chilton has been the Director of Marketing and Public Relations of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT®). In that position, Chris creates long-term sustainable value for the organization by raising public awareness of the organization’s mission and generating revenue through select public outreach programs. 

Skilled in creating and managing environmental and non-profit marketing programs, Chris’s activities range from branding, positioning, and marketing/digital marketing support; to raising awareness for the Institute’s international awards program; to building alliances with similar minded organizations, and promoting the merits of sustainability and conservation. 

Of special note, Chris was instrumental in creating BRIT’s unique, International Award of Excellence in Sustainable Winegrowing honoring sustainable wineries. Chris is the BRIT representative to the International Federation of Wine and Spirits (FIVS) and is a member of the FIVS Sustainability Committee. 

During his 30-year career, Chilton has held director and vp-level marketing positions in non-profit, technology, architectural/engineering services, and PR/advertising industries.  He has worked in both the United States and Canada for established public and private companies, as well as start-ups. 

He is a big-picture thinker, consensus builder, strategist, and savvy communicator.
