Welcome!

"GROWing Together" is for all Green Thumb Club and Bella Book and Nature Club members who want to keep up with the programs occurring at both the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens and at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. Seedlings and Little Sprouts are back in the Garden and don’t forget about Bella’s Book and Nature Club as well as Bella’s Saturday Story Time at BRIT. We are also offering our programs: Family Exploration Saturdays and Spring Break Family Day Camp! We look forward to seeing you and we are glad you are here!

Storywalk with Children's Author, Dianna Aston

May 11th Saturday 10 AM - 3:00 PM

Join us as we welcome award-winning children’s author, Diana H. Aston and Fort Worth Public Library Director, Manya Shorr, along with local literacy and pollinator advocates in a day of free family activities to honor the first StoryWalk to take place in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The new StoryWalk will feature the book, A Butterfly Is Patient, and highlight the newly replanted Pollinator Pathway connecting BRIT to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Author Diana H. Little Sprouts

Families explore the outdoors with your children ages 18 months to 3 years at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

When: Third Tuesday of the month (except December, January, February & July)

Time: 10:30—11:30 a.m.

Cost: FREE to the public

Location: Backyard Veggie Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden

Spring 2019 dates:

  • March 19th 
  • April 16th
  • May 21st 

 

Seedlings

Children ages 4—6 and their families explore the Backyard Veggie Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. 

When: Second Wednesday of the month (except December, January, February & July)

Time: 10:30—11:30 a.m.

Cost: FREE to the public

Location: Backyard Veggie Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden

Spring 2019 dates:

  • March 13th 
  • April 10th 
  • May 8th

 

Family Exploration Saturdays

Bring the whole family every Saturday for outdoor exploration that will engage your children in the wonders of nature at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Every month families will participate in a guided nature hike led by GROW Girl. After the hike, stay for more family-fun and science activities in the Garden.

When: Every Saturday (except in December, January, February, and July)

Hike with GROW Girl!

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 

Activities in the Leonard Courtyard

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Cost: FREE to the public

Location: Meeting locations may vary month to month.

Bella's Book and Nature Club

• An interactive read-aloud story time
• Indoor and/or outdoor guided Exploration Centers
• A “Nature’s Treasure Box” and seasonal journals
• Take-home “you are your child’s best teacher” tips and
extension activities for each book

When: First Tuesday of the Month (excluding December, January and July)

Time:10:30—11:30 a.m. story time & guided indoor and/or outdoor explorations

Cost: $10.00 per family, per visit (FREE for GROW Members)

Location: Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT)

Bella's Saturday Storytime 

Children ages 18 months to 5 years and their families join Bella the Begonia for story time and self-guided activities on BRIT’s First Saturday events.

Cost: FREE to the public
