Growing Start

Growing Start is a program that provides service learning opportunities that inspire youth (9th – 12th grade) to consider career pathways related to environmental STEM careers, while giving back to their communities as environmental stewards. It empowers its participants develop college and career readiness and leadership skills. This program is great for the student looking to build skills and track volunteer time. 

Upcoming Activities:

  • Teen Tuesdays: Career exploration webinars with leading botanical researchers. Registration is open!
  • Volunteer opportunities in the garden with horticulture specialist.

*Note: Growing Start participants must have a minimum of 20 service/ learning hours per membership year in order to be invites to the leadership retreat held during the summer of the membership year. 

How Do I Apply to Growing Start?

Follow these easy steps!

  1. Complete Online Enrollment
  2. Sign up for volunteer orientation. 
  3. Provide all signatures for parent/guardian permission. 
  4. Sign up to volunteer/learn!
