The purpose of the conservatory is to feature and interpret plants of economic importance from tropical regions of the world and to highlight efforts to conserve those plants. Such plants as mango, palms, coffee, kumquat and banana anchor the tropical reflection in the conservatory, but many other tropical plants fill the 10,000 sq. ft. space as well, including orchids.
