Field Study Trips

Pre-K-12th grade students will think and inquire like real-world scientists as they explore our outdoor classrooms.

On-site field trips are priced by the number of participants. A minimum of one chaperone per ten students is required for safety reasons. Registration for these required chaperones is offered free of charge. 

Final participant numbers and payment is due two weeks before the event date.

Self-Guided Explorations provide the freedom to explore at your own pace. FWBG|BRIT Educators will not be present during this experience. 

Available: Year-Round,  Monday – Friday 9 am – 3 pm 

$6 /participant (students & registered adults)

Minimum of 15 participants to qualify. 

Any unregistered adult joining on the day of a Self-Guided Exploration will pay the regular garden admission of $12.

Self-Guided Exploration pricing is available for schools, homeschool groups, and after-school programs for children Pre-K-12th grade only. If you want to register a college class or an adult group to visit the garden, please contact Stephanie Sellers for group rates: ssellers@brit.org

Looking for an outdoor adventure to engage K-5 explorers this summer?

FWBG| BRIT Ultimate Summer STEM Challenges will give your group the chance to explore the Fort Worth Botanic Garden while providing interactive STEM challenges related to special exhibits and garden spaces. Educators may schedule a two-hour time slot and receive a bag of STEM activities to lead with your group as they connect STEM and nature. FWBG|BRIT staff will welcome your group to introduce activities and schedule your reflection to discuss your STEM Challenge Experience. Activity engagement time is 1 hour, with 1 hour to freely explore the Garden. 

Available starting June 1, Tuesday – Friday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

$7 /Student, $5 /Adult or minimum fee $140 for groups of fewer than 20 participants

Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects Made with LEGO Bricks (June & July) – Explore the Nature Connects exhibit and take the STEM Challenge to gain a greater understanding of relationships in nature. 

Eco-Region Exploration (June, July, August) – Visit a variety of eco-regions and habitats available in the Botanic Garden: forests, deserts, and prairies are all on display!

Virtual Field Study Trips – Elementary Students

All Virtual Field Trips are priced for a single class with a maximum of 35 students. Payment must be completed before any materials can be shared.

Tree Level – $80 – Includes 1 Self-guided Activity with:

  • Activity Pages with instructions, suggested vocabulary, driving questions, and more
  • Pre-activity videos
  • Post-activity videos

Grove Level – $120 – Includes 3 Self-guided Activities with:

  • Activity Pages with instructions, suggested vocabulary, driving questions, and more
  • Pre-activity videos
  • Post-activity videos
  • One 30-45 minute live video session with GROW Girl

Forest Level – $140 – Includes 6 Self-guided Activities with:

  • Activity Pages with instructions, suggested vocabulary, driving questions, and more
  • Pre-activity videos
  • Post-activity videos
  • Your choice of one or two 30-45 minute live video sessions with GROW Girl!

Virtual Field Study Trips – Middle & High School Students

All Virtual Field Trips are priced for a single class with a maximum of 35 students. Payment must be completed before any materials can be shared.

This is a unique experience including an in-depth virtual guided tour of BRIT’s LEED Platinum campus with over 20 videos and 360° views.

Students will explore inside and outside of our BRIT campus to make connections between the impact of a LEED Platinum building and the environment, then apply their knowledge to design their own sustainable buildings of the future.

$140 LEEDing the Way Virtual Package Includes:

  • Pre-activity video
  • Kuula virtual tour of BRIT
  • Activity Pages with suggested vocabulary, driving questions, and instructions for the Engineering-Design Challenge
  • 45 minute live video session with Education staff for students to share and discuss their designs.

Payment or PO must be completed before any materials can be shared.
